Skylanders Trap Team™ on the Nintendo 3DS™ introduces a complementary portable experience to the console version of the game. Now Portal Masters can enjoy a brand new storyline that allows them to bring the newest Trap Master stars to life and inter with 14 escaped villains who are completely exclusive to the Nintendo 3DS platform. The Nintendo 3DS version of Skylanders Trap Team also introduces the ability to play Skylanders Skystones against their friends using Wi-Fi connectivity, marking the first time Portal Masters can play a multiplayer version of the fan-favorite card game. Additionally, Skylanders Trap Team on Nintendo 3DS utilizes the platforms touch screen, accelerometer and microphone capabilities to let players inter with charers in the game in fun and interesting ways.\r

Hugo reads ‘The Most Boring Book Ever and unwittingly opens a portal to the Realm of Dreams, allowing a host of nightmare creatures to escape into Skylands. The Dream Sheep, an evil master of nightmares and the lead villain in the game, works with his sleepy sidekick the Sleep Dragon to conjure a powerful sleep spell which is spreading across Skylands putting everyone to sleep, while his evil flock of nightmare minions wreaks havoc. The Skylanders are immune to this sleep spell, and with the help of the Trap Masters, leading the charge in this new adventure, Portal Masters must seek out the nightmare villains and trap them before its too late!\r

The 3DS version of the game (developed by Beenox) will not utilize physical traps but instead use the games touch screen as the Traptanium Prison. Trap Team 3DS uses the same portal as Swap Force 3DS, focusing on the portability of the game. Once players have teleported their Skylanders into the game, they remain in the game. So there is no need to carry the portal or a bag full of figures when taking the game on the road. The same goes for the trapped villians. Once they are captured, they remain in the games central hub where they can be called upon later.\r
\r
Trapped villains will fight along side of the Skylanders. You can only play as the villain in special bootcamp challenges. Since physical traps do not function in this game, trapped villains from the console version cannot be used here. Instead, you are able to capture 14 new villains that are exclusive to the 3DS.\r
\r
These villains include: Dream Sheep, Bobbin Rood, Runys Pointyboots, Shelshock Sheldon, Baron von Smashbeak, Spike McPokerton, Birdo Chesterfield, Marf Gargaroots, Olaf Crushersson, Russel Purplestache, Boris Blisterbottom, Grunkin Gobsprout, Bucktooth the Tiny and Big Bertha Bubblethorn.\r
Nintendos Street Pass is in full effect with this game, allowing players to try out new Skylanders if another player is in range.\r
\r
The game will also allow players to compete head to head in SkyStones for the first time using the 3DS Wi-Fi capabilities. \r
\r
The starter pack will include the portal of power, Trapmaster Gusto, and mini Barkley. It will retail for $64.99 and will be available on October 5th in the USA along with the console versions.\r
