Phillip Mitchell sings his legendary Northern Soul smash "Free For All (Winner Take All)", originally released on Shout Records in 1967. It's yet another legendary Northern Soul smash, that we filmed for "The Strange World Of Northern Soul". The record was Tony Jebb's ultimate anthem in the early days of Blackpool Mecca, and it became an absolute icon of the Northern Soul Scene. In 1999, after much searching, I found Phillip in Kentucky, he kindly agreed to re-record the song for us and to film himself on the riverboat by the Mississippi River. So here is this one time performance, done especially for us and our ground breaking Encyclopedia Britannica of Northern Soul. Enjoy!
