Mega Man X4 Masochist Challenge Part 08

I know that me having fun is counter-productive to the entire point of this Masochist Challenge run, but man, I've noticed I've been saying that a stage was fun to work on for several times now.
And I have to say it again.
This stage was a blast to mess with. No matter how frustrated I got with something like Jet Stingray's level, this makes it worth it to me in the end.
Frost Walrus' stage is a damn playground, and I see myself revisiting this thing at some point after this is over, just to look for a faster way to speed through. Though I think I found a good route here.
The one thing I'm not super happy with is the miniboss, it can probably be taken down more smoothly. I did spend time trying to manipulate him with the X-Buster, but what you see is pretty much what I was able to do on every attempt. And there's only so much I was able to do without risking taking damage.
In the first area, it's all about the terrain. The enemies are there just to hinder your speed somewhat, and to remind you that they're there, but the terrain is your main enemy. The enemy convolution becomes your enemy in the second area, but it's nothing like Slash Beast's stage where it gets ridiculous. Just a well-crafted challenge.
Definitely one of my favorite ice stages in videogames, and ice stages can be tough to pull off.
The boss fight, though...

Frost Walrus is an ice boss in a Mega Man X game, and he's a fat boss in a Mega Man X game. This basically means that he's just properly fucked in every possible way.
Walrus doesn't offer the slightest bit of challenge.
The "fat people are useless" social commentary is something Capcom started as early as Mega Man 2 with Wood Man, by the way.
So, like I said. As far as the bosses in X4 go, Frost Walrus is definitely not the cream of the crop. The battle is easy as pie. Cool as a cucumber, X defeats the oversized couch potato, his goose is cooked. X could not have hoped for an easier fight, it truly was a piece of cake.
Get it? He's fat.
