The highlight of the Bonhams sale during the 2013 Goodwood Festival of Speed, the single remaining Mercedes W196R Silver Arrow owned other than by Mercedes Benz themselves so the only car in the world available for public purchase, and specifically a winner of two Grand Prix with Fangio.

After a dramatic auction, the bidding reached £17.5 million, which equates to £19.6 million after buyer's premium and commissions, breaking the world record for the highest value car at auction and placing it as one of the most valuable cars to have sold worldwide.
