First look at terminator-style motorbike HUD
  • 5 years ago
A motorbike fan has spent over £100,000 inventing a Terminator-style helmet camera - which shows the dashboard display in the rider's GLASSES. Enterprising Dave Vout, 52, developed the Bike HUD (Heads-up-display), which is similar to the Google Glass technology currently being tested for pedestrians. The HUD is attached to a helmet and displays the speedometer, gear, rev counter, indicator and time in the rider's eyesight. The camera is mounted below the rider's cheek bone and the display is visible at the bottom left of the user's glasses meaning they never have to take their eyes of the road to look at their dashboard. Mr Vout has spent £110,000 developing the product which he started in 2010. He is launching the HUD - which will cost up to £350 next month.
