Germany Squad Train In Switzerland Ahead Of The European Championships
  • 5 years ago
Germany trained in Switzerland on Thursday (2nd June) ahead of the European Championships.

There were a few surprises when Germany manager Jochim Low named his European Championship squad.

Borussia Dortmund's Marco Reus was dropped due a lack of form and fitness, but Low did call up Manchester United's Bastien Schweinsteiger.

The English based midfielder has struggled himself with injury and form, and has not played since March.

The German team have been in dire form heading into the competition - losing three out of their last four.

Slovakia were the latest team to ease past Germany - winning 3-1 in Augsburg.

Germany will play Hungary in a friendly in Gelsenkirchen on Saturday - they will hope to finally pick up a confidence boosting victory before they open their European campaign on the 12th of June against Ukraine.
