A camper captured a massive plume of smoke from Lake Christine Fire near Basalt, Colorado, on July 4.
“My friends and I decided to go day camping at Ruedi Reservoir, which is in Basalt, Colorado,” the filmer said. “When we left the campsite at 6 p.m., the fire was burning out of control. The flames were bursting over the mountains.”
The fire has grown to more than 2,300 acres, according to media reports.
