Good morning. Another scorching day is in store and the Korean Peninsula is expecting the 19th typhoon of the season, Typhoon Soulik, to hit the nation this week.

Soulik is expected to hit Jeju Island on Wednesday and move in a north-easterly direction to pass across the Korean Peninsula by Thursday. Expect some strong winds and heavy showers.

Meanwhile, heat wave alerts have been expanded to more regions again including here in Seoul and over in Sokcho. Mount Kumgang, the meeting place for the families from the South and the North will have pleasant weather under mostly sunny skies.

But again, other than regions in the east, the rest of country will have a hot and humid Monday afternoon at 34 degrees Celsius in Seoul, Daegu and Gyeongju.

Due to the effect of the typhoon, we'll see frequent showers this week but that won't give us much relief from the heat.

That's Korea for you and here's the international weather for viewers around the world.
