Flash floods inundate Wisconsin county

Parts of Wisconsin were hammered by torrential rain on August 28, prompting mass evacuations as rising floodwaters threatened homes and structures.

This video, filmed in Wonewoc, Juneau County, shows a waterlogged path and a car partially submerged. Residents there, along with in Fond du Lac, La Crosse, Monroe, Vernon, and Washington counties, were under a flash flood warning.

Along the western border of Wisconsin, parts of Houston County in Minnesota were also hit by torrential downpours.

More than 11 inches of rain fell overnight in places in or around state capital Madison, according to the National Weather Service. Drier conditions and sunshine are forecast for the next few days.
