Suspect Drops Gun in Botched Robbery of Colorado E-Cigarette Store

Police in Aurora, Colorado, appealed to the public for help identifying a man who botched a robbery of an e-cigarette store on September 2 by accidentally flinging a replica handgun across the counter before fleeing the scene.Security camera footage shot inside the E-Cig of Denver store shows a man approach the counter and pull a weapon from his pants. He instantly loses his grip on the gun, and it flies across the counter onto the floor, where the employee grabs it. The would-be robber makes a brief attempt to climb over the counter but quickly turns and runs out the door. The employee behind the counter is then seen placing the weapon on the counter and locking the door.Police said no one was injured and that the weapon was a BB gun with its orange tip removed.“The suspect is a white male who was wearing a red hat, a blue Denver Broncos sweatshirt with an orange ‘D’ on the front, black pants, sunglasses, orange gloves and white shoes,” police said.
