Depression for S. Koreans rose nearly 16% from five years ago

The number of South Koreans treated for depression last year rose.... 15-point-8 percent compared to five years ago.
According to data by the National Health Insurance Service on Sunday,… some 6-hundred-80-thousand patients were treated for depression last year,.... up from nearly 5-hundred-90-thousand in 2012.
And nearly 4-hundred-60-thousand of those treated for depression last year were women.
Experts say,… while hormonal changes due to menstruation or pregnancy are some of the factors leading to the high rates of depression for women,... child rearing and housework also seem to be some of the reasons why the figures are nearly twice as high for women as they are for men.
