Accessed Personal Info
of 14 Million Users A security flaw in Facebook's "view as" feature gave hackers the ability to potentially take over user profiles. 14 million of those people had all of their personal information available to the hackers. The hackers initially stole "access tokens" to 30 million Facebook accounts. The exposed data included 15 million people had their name and contact information exposed, such as their phone number and email address. In a blog post, Facebook said users would be able to check if they were affected by the attack through Facebook's help center online. Only 1 million users had their access tokens stolen but did not have any of their information accessed. The FBI is investigating the attack.
