A heartless purse snatcher snagged a 57-year-old woman’s handbag as she walked down a rain-swept Brooklyn street — pulling his defiant victim to the ground as they struggled over the purse, stunning video shows.
Police on Tuesday released the surveillance video in the hopes that someone recognizes the crook responsible for the Oct. 11 mugging.
The woman, her purse slung under her left arm as she held an umbrella, was crossing Brighton 13th St. near Oceanview Ave. in Brighton Beach about 5:30 p.m. when the creep sneaked up behind her and grabbed her bag.
The woman tried to latch onto the bag, but the crook, who never stopped running, dragged her to the ground as he yanked it away from her.T
The victim suffered cuts to her elbows and knees and was treated at the scene, cops said. Her purse contained about $40 and her cellphone.
The mugger was last seen running north on Brighton 13th St. No arrests have been made.
The suspect is described as light skinned and about 25 with black hair. He was wearing a grey long-sleeve shirt, blue jeans and black sneakers.
