My Discovery Flight. Today I cross another item off of my F.I.B list. I am with Flyright Aviation in North Las Vegas, Nevada, on a discovery flight, to see if I like private flying and if I would like to pursue private pilot license training.

I am also filling in a blank today, by flying a private airplane, over Las Vegas, Nevada. Since I was a child, I wanted to learn how to fly an airplane. I grew up for a significant period of my youth in Central Florida, near Kennedy Space Center during the age of the Space Shuttle. Every shuttle launch, I would make sure I stayed home from school to watch, and always followed NASA closely. Things like flying, aerospace, space travel, astronomy, etc always held a special place in my heart, even to this day. This was one small element of that childhood passion.

My instructor Ibrahim, was phenomenal and very thorough. He was very skilled, kind and patient, and allowed me to do the bulk of the flying on this run. Whenever I would start to struggle, he would immediately help me back to where I should have been. Overall, it was a great experience, and I am glad to have checked off this box in my life.
