2018 Audi R8 Competition Package: Engage Gusto, Destroy Subtlety

This is the most performance-oriented R8 to come out of Ingolstadt: the 2018 Audi R8 V10 Plus Competition Package. The new Audi R8 Competition Package is a bit fussy from some angles, but there’s no denying this car is a serious performance machine.
It’ll be quite a rare sight, too. Audi will only make ten examples of the 2018 R8 Competition Package. The lucky owners will basically get the same car with pre-configured features including unique off-white Suzuka Gray paint, red contrast stitching on the black racing shell seats, full-leather interior package, and a spanking Bang & Olufsen audio system.
Surprisingly, Audi didn’t tinker with the V10 engine to make the R8 Competition Package faster. Instead, engineers pulled all the tricks to make the new car lighter and more aerodynamic. The full carbon fiber aero kit helps to produce double the amount of downforce at 93 mph, or 150 kph. Titanium backing plates on the carbon ceramic brake pads and lighter 20-inch alloys also contribute top significant weight reduction.
