The PyeongChang Winter Olympics, and the atmosphere of reconciliation between South and North Korea at the games, was selected as one of AFP Sport's top ten sporting highlights of 2018.
The news agency put the Winter Olympics in 8th spot on their list... saying the event in February led to a thaw in ties with nuclear-armed North Korea.
The two sides marched together behind the Unification Flag and took part in the Winter Olympics as a joint team for the first time in the history of the global event.
Pyeongchang wasn't the only Korean sports highlight of the year. The Associated Press listed the South Korean men's national football team upsetting defending champs Germany, knocking them out of the Russian World Cup... as one of the biggest surprises of 2018.
