Festival of light illuminates the Finnish capital

Visitors to Helsinki's annual light festival brave freezing temperatures and snow to explore the colourful illuminations dotted around the Finnish capital. The Lux light festival is held at the height of winter, when days are just six hours long, and showcases exhibits by Finnish and international artists as well as works by local schoolchildren. Organisers expect half a million people to attend this year.
