UPA's ally trouble: PM reaches out to Pawar, NCP set to pull out - NewsX

In fresh trouble from the ruling United Progressive Alliance (UPA), the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) on Friday out the government on notice with Sharad Pawar and Praful Patel staying away from their ministries, but stopped short of formally resigning from the Cabinet. However, the move was enough to worry the government as Prime Minister Manmohan Singh did not delay in reaching out to NCP supremo Sharad Pawar, calling him a valued colleague. The Prime Minister made a statement praising the Maratha strongman saying, "Mr Sharad Pawar is a very valued colleague on mine whose knowledge, wisdom and experience are a great asset to our government."
