Lt col Prasad Srikanth Purohit, once a top military intelligence undercover and an accused in the Malegaon 2008 blasts has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Rajnath Singh, citing that he had been in jail for more than 5 years, but the case has not come up in the court for a hearing even once.
In his letter, Purohit alleges that the anti-Terrorsim squad of Maharashtra has fabricated the case against him, he adds that the ATS "created" terrorists out of "innocent, patriotic" people for unknown reasons. Purohit is facing trial in the Malegaon blast case under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA). In May this year, Purohit lodged in Taloja Jail in Navi Mumbai had applied for parole.
