Some New Yorkers whose homes lost electricity during the storm, may have to wait more than two weeks to get it back. Power Companies say that while majority of consumers in New York City and the northern suburbs should have power by 11th of November, a significant number could remain in the dark for 15 more days.Sandy left more than 8.48 million customers in New York without power, of whom 4.7 million people are still affected. Looking at the New York boroughs, lakhs of people are still living without power especially in Manhattan and Queens.
