Punjab cop murder: DIG suspended for indiscipline - NewsX

In what is being attributed as a fallout of the murder of ASI Ravinder Pal Singh by a Youth Akali leader, the Punjab government has suspended the deputy Inspector general of police, Border Range. The orders issued on Saturday evening said that DIG Paramaraj Singh Umaranangal, has been suspended for not performing his duties efficiently and creating indiscipline in the border range. Paramraj had assumed charge of the border range a couple of months ago upon transfer from the same post in Ferozaepur range over serious irregularities in handling an abduction and rape case involving a minor victim from Faridkot.
