Nokia to pay Rs 240 Cr to Tamil Nadu Government

Madras High Court today directed Nokia to pay 10 per cent of Rs 2,400 crore sales tax claim by the Tamil Nadu government in eight weeks.

Nokia India on April 1 had maintained its earlier stance that it cannot pay any sales tax to the Tamil Nadu Government, which has demanded Rs 2,400 crore as Value Added Tax from the handset manufacturer.
