Hook Shots: A New Bass Fly Fishery In Old Mexico
  • 5 years ago
Lake Picachos is a relative newcomer on the Mexican bass scene. A sister lake to the renowned El Salto, Picachos has only been stocked for ten years, yet the reproduction rate of the fish has been staggering. Chocked full of Florida-strain largemouths and shallower than other area lakes, Picachos is a fly angler's dream where you can expect big numbers and plenty of fish in the 3- to 6-pound range. Host Joe Cermele and photographer Tim Romano camp out at Anglers Inn along Picachos' shore to escape the February cold and see just how big a hurt they can put on this new fishery.
