A new study shows air pollution, including fine dust,... is more deadly than smoking,... resulting in approximately eight-point-eight million early deaths globally each year.
According to research conducted by scientists in Germany and Cyprus,... which was published in the European Society of Cardiology Journal,... the figure is nearly double the previously estimated four-point-five million.
This is more than deaths caused by smoking,... which is estimated to hover around seven million a year globally,... according to the World Health Organization.
The researchers, thus, called for the urgent need to stop burning fossil fuels and move to clean and renewable energy.
