Eating 3 or More Eggs a Day
May Increase Risk of Heart Disease, Study Says A new study published in the medical
journal, 'JAMA,' notes that a single egg
contains about 186 mg of cholesterol. According to the study, eating 3 or more eggs a day
(or 300 mg of cholesterol) increases the risk of
both heart disease and early death. 29,000 people were followed for
an average of 17.5 years. During that time,
5,400 cardiovascular events
happened, including strokes,
heart failure and heart disease deaths. As opposed to previous studies, other
factors such as smoking or limited exercise
were assessed in the current findings. Dr. Robert H. Eckel,

with the British Heart Foundation,
thinks more research is needed. Victoria Taylor, via CNN
