Apple Announced Apple Arcade, Apple TV+, and Apple News+ at Its Live Event Today

Whenever Apple makes an announcement, the news is always big. After a month of new drops—including upgraded AirPods with a wireless charging case and new, long-awaited iPad Mini—Apple held a live event Monday in Cupertino to announce even more big news. Instead of unveiling new technology you can hold in your hands, strap on your wrist, or stuff into your ears, Apple's event focused on the content you consume on those devices: a video game subscription service for iOS, Apple's long-rumored Netflix-killing video streaming service, an upgraded Apple TV app, the addition of magazines to Apple News, and more.

As Tim Cook took the Steve Jobs stage, he described Apple's plans to hook Apple acolytes with so much content, and the Apple folks peppered the presentation throughout with a clear emphasis on privacy and data security for users. Apple had teased its event with the less-than-subtle tagline, "It's Show Time," and for months rumors and leaks have given us a rough idea of what to expect from Apple as a TV and movie and games service. Now we know. Let the salivating begin.
