Freddie and the Dreamers were an English band who had many hit records between 1963 and 1965. They were originally from Manchester. They can also be known as the clowns of the British Invasion as they were less serious than other groups at the time. Lead singer Freddie Garrity changed his style from Skiffle in the 50s, to rock and roll in the early 60s.
"If You Gotta Make a Fool of Somebody" was the bands first single. Released in 1963 it went into the UK charts at No.3.
