Seoul's Finance chief urged parliament to endorse the government-led budget plan aimed at reviving the economy and tackling air pollution.
Chairing a weekly Cabinet meeting on Tuesday, Hong Nam-ki cited growing uncertainty in the global financial market.
He added the delays would mean it would take longer for the economy to recover.
And this would especially affect those who are suffering from the aftermath of deadly fires that hit parts of the country.
The minister said the parliament's extraordinary session comes to an end Tuesday, but the date for the budget approval worth 5-point-8 billion U.S. dollars is yet to be decided.
