As the U.S.-China trade war rages on, Apple is reportedly looking into moving some of its manufacturing out of China and restructuring its supply chain.
According to Japan's Nikkei Asian Review on Wednesday, the tech giant has asked its major suppliers to assess the cost implications of moving 15 to 30 percent of their production capacity from China to Southeast Asia.
The journal added that although the move comes amid the prolonged trade spat, Apple will not reverse its decision even if tensions ease in the future.
Growing risks from its heavy dependence on manufacturing in China have been cited as Apple's reason to consider such an option.
