Pentagon Wants To Build An Outpost In Space

The U.S. military is asking for submissions for a small, free-flying Orbital Outpost that would be used by the Department of Defense. The Defense Innovation Unit wants the outpost to have the specifications to be an autonomous space station, says Digital Trends. According to the proposal, the outpost could eventually grow to accommodate a human crew. Submissions for the proposal are open until July 9 and the military wants the outpost to be ready within two years.
