Smart bracelet

A high-tech bracelet could soon be helping civil rights and aid workers at risk of being kidnapped or killed. It has a personal alarm which uses phone and satellite-navigation technology to issue a warning if its wearer is in danger. The warnings are sent in the form of messages to Facebook and Twitter to call for support and ensure people do not disappear without a trace. The bracelets have been developed by the civil rights defenders campaign group based in Sweden with the aim of protecting workers in war zones and other areas of conflict. – ANCALERTS, ANC, April 8, 2013
