Good morning. The Korean Peninsula received heavy showers on Thursday due to Typhoon Krosa that hit Japan on the same day. Seoul saw more than 60 millimeters. Fortunately,. the rain has tapered off, but we could still see light sporadic showers during the day so have an umbrella handy.
The intense heat took a break in many regions and heat wave alerts have been lifted in most areas, but parts of Gwangju, Gyeongsang-do and Jeolla-do Provinces and Jeju Island remain under heat wave alerts. However, it's very likely heat alerts will expand to more southern regions as the day goes on.
It's a comfortable morning, temperature-wise here in Seoul, but readings will rise fast with a chance of isolated rainfall. Seoul and Busan are waking up to a low of 24 degrees Celsius.
Daily highs will be 1 to 4 degrees higher than yesterday hovering in the low thirties. Seoul, Daejeon and Chuncheon getting up to 31 degrees Celsius. Daegu will be sweltering hot at 34 degrees.
That's Korea for you and here's the international weather for viewers around the world.
