Last month, nearly 10-thousand people in Japan have signed a petition urging Tokyo to lift trade restrictions against Seoul.
It was organized by the 'Group Petitioning on Whether South Korea Is a Foe', that consists of leading figures in various fields including scholars, legal professionals and civic activists.
The group stressed it's absurd for Japan to treat South Korea like an enemy and that Seoul is an important neighbor in establishing peace and prosperity in the region.
It urged the Abe administration to stop dividing the people of the two countries and emphasized the need to hold talks with the South Korean government.
The group is to stage a protest in the country's capital on Saturday.
They will brief the public on the results of the petition, and hold discussions on what the public can do to improve Seoul-Tokyo ties.
