Comelec to bgy last-termers- Don't run

MANILA - The Commission on Elections has uploaded in their website a list of barangay officials who are currently on their third and last term. The Comelec made this information public to discourage last termers who would try to run again this barangay elections. Comelec Commissioner Christian Robert Lim said: "Pag three-termer ka at nag-file ka, hindi ka eligible. That's material misrepresentation. It's an election offense. It's also perjury and at the same time, ground for disqualification." Ona Coritos of the Legal Network for Truthful Elections said: "Yung three term limit nag a-apply na sa ating mga barangay officials so dapat maging alisto tayo lalo na yung mga tao sa barangay dun sa mga overstaying na mga barangay officials."
