The Lebanese Rocket Society (Directors Joana Hadjithomas, Khalil Joreige)

In around 1960, a school teacher and his students started a Rocket Society and slowly became national pride. They even succeed in launching a rocket into low orbit. They were going awesome, everybody loved them. Lebanese postal office has even designed postal stamps to honor them.

However, the military intervened and asked them to use this knowledge to design weaponized rockets. After all Middle East is not the most peaceful place on Earth.

Most of them, because they refuse violence, decided to continue their work in USA.
