Georgian skier films avalanche escape when slope gives way underneath him

A skier travelling down the snowy slopes of the Caucasus mountains in north Georgia caught the terrifying moment the snow gave way under him and he had to ski for his life.

Filmed on February 14, 2017 near the town of Mestia, the skier was travelling as part of a party on the slopes when a small break in the snow caused the hillside to give way.
