Times Square New Year's Eve 2020 Numerals Arrive

The New Year’s Eve numerals have arrived in Times Square and were tested in preparation for the New Year celebrations. The “2020” numerals use a combined 618 energy efficient LEDs. The numeral “2” contains 145 bulbs and the “0” contains 164 bulbs. Each numeral is 7-feet high. The “2” and the “0” will be placed atop 1 Times Square and will light up at midnight on December 31.
On hand to welcome the numerals into Times Square were Jeffrey Straus, President of Countdown Entertainment and the host of New Year’s Eve Jonathan Bennett. After the test lighting members of the public were invited to take photos in front of the numerals. The “2” and the “0” will be stay on the Plaza at Times Square until December 19th for anyone to take a photograph.
