Chinese basketball league banned a fan for life and suspended a coach for a second game after the pair had a dispute during a match, which included middle fingers, a slap to the face and swearing in an intense altercation on January 1.

In the video, filmed in the city of Suzhou in Jiangsu Province, the wife of Memi Becirovic — coach of Jiangsu Dragons — walked to a supporter at the front of the auditorium to try to stop him being rude after he gave a middle finger to the basketballers from Liaoning Flying Leopards.

However, the angry man started to swear at the woman while continuously pointing at her.

Nearby audiences can be seen trying to calm down the man and Memi Becirovic walked to him after spotting the incident.

The man then began to swear at Memi, causing him to slap the man's face.

The supporter is reportedly named Wang Youcheng, who is the chairman of Jurong's basketball association. Wang was banned by Chinese Basketball League for life and Becirovic was suspended for a second game.
