Elephants take centre stage in Sri Lankan Buddhist festival

Elephants adorned in glittering costumes, fire dancers and drummers perform as part of a procession in the outskirts of Sri Lanka's capital Colombo to mark a Buddhist festival. Elephants have been a part of religious processions for decades in the country, although last year 17 people were injured in Sri Lanka when two elephants ran amok at a religious festival.
