Ganga river banks get a makeover in Bihar

Clean, peaceful and beautiful – the Ganga River Front Development in Patna is a paradise for the residents, especially walkers and students. The 5.7 km long and 15-ft wide walkway along 20 ghats in the city has been built under the Namami Gange project of the National Mission for Clean Ganga. For residents of the city the river front has become a lively recreational area and a cultural hub. It also helps create awareness about environmental cleanliness, especially preventing the disposal of untreated sewage into the river. A major attraction for the visitors is the magnificent Madhubani wall paintings along the walkway, which have messages about keeping the river clean. Since there are many colleges along the river in Patna, many students come out to study at the ghats. For latest news follow www.deccanherald.com.
