At least 11 people died and an estimated 1,000 more were left with breathing difficulties and other health problems after synthetic gas leaked from a factory in southern India on May 7, 2020. A second release of toxic gas happened again the following morning from the LG Chem plant in southern India’s Andhra Pradesh, triggering a wider evacuation.
