Lebanon nurse reunites with family after months on virus frontline

A registered nurse at the Rafik Hariri University Hospital in Beirut, Ali Awerke has spent nearly two months away from his wife and two children since the COVID-19 pandemic hit Lebanon, keeping a safe distance while working long hours at the coronavirus Emergency Room. But after weeks apart, the 34-year-old takes the beginning of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan as a chance to reunite with his family -- but not before testing himself for the disease first.
