Donkey Kong Country - SNES

Donkey Kong Country is a 2D platformer developed by Rare and published by Nintendo for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. Starring Donkey Kong, the game is set in "Donkey Kong Island", which is explored in six regions with different environments. The story is focused around Donkey Kong and his nephew Diddy Kong's quest to retrieve their banana cache, stolen by King K. Rool and the Kremlings. After an intense marketing campaign, the original release for the SNES sold over 9 million copies, making it the second best-selling game on the platform. The game features revolutionary graphics for its time, being the first game able to store 32 megabits of data on the SNES cartridge, as well as being the first game to use pre-rendered 3D models coupled with an iconic soundtrack, proving that SNES was still a strong contender. The goal of the game was to go through over 40 different levels (41 in the Game Boy Color) and collect the Kong's bananas, which were stolen by the Kremlings. Each level features a unique theme and challenges, like swimming, riding mine carts, getting shot out of a cannon or swinging on vines.
