Footage shows flooded roads after heavy rain in Phayao, northern Thailand.

The area was battered with heavy rain for two consecutive days causing a river to burst its banks - sending torrents of water onto nearby fields and streets.

Residents had to battle through the deluge while they wait for the water levels to subside.

Thailand and other countries in Southeast Asia are at the peak of the annual rainy season, that sees regular tropical storms until cooler weather arrives towards the late October.
