Collins’ reelection will be her fifth term
representing Maine in the Senate.
She initially assumed office in 1997. .
Although she’s classified as a Republican,
Collins has distanced herself from Trump and
developed working relationships with Democrats. .
She was one of only two senators in
her party to vote against the confirmation
of Judge Amy Coney Barrett. .
