हार्मोन कार्बनिक पदार्थ होते हैं, जो सूक्ष्म मात्रा में उत्पन्न होकर पौधों की वृद्धि का नियमन करते हैं। ये पादप की वृद्धि को कम भी कर सकते हैं और बढ़ा भी सकते हैं।
विभिन्न प्रकार के पादप हार्मोन का निर्माण पादपों में होता है। जिनमें से हम ऑक्सीन, जिब्बेरेलिन, साइटोकाइनिन, इथाईलीन तथा एब्सिसिक अम्ल के बारे में इस वीडियो में जानेंगे।
ऑक्सीन सबसे पहले खोजा गया प्लांट हॉरमोन है। जो मानव के मूत्र से पृथक किया गया था। इसकी खोज का श्रेय वेंट को जाता है। यह पादप की वृद्धि को नियंत्रित करता है। यह पादप में प्रकाशानुवर्तन को बढ़ाने का कार्य करता है। इसका उपयोग खरपतवार को नष्ट करने में भी किया जाता है ।
ऑक्सिन और साइटोकिनिन दोनों को मिलाकर उत्तक संवर्धन में प्ररोह तथा जड़ के निर्माण में किया जाता है। इस वीडियो में केवल ओक्सिन के बारे में बताया गया है।

Different types of plant hormones are produced in plants. Out of which, we will learn about Auxin, Gibberellin, Cytokinin, Ethylene and Abscisic Acid in this video.
Auxin is the earliest discovered plant hormone. Which was isolated from human urine. The credit for its discovery goes to Went. It controls plant growth. It works to increase phototropism in the plant. It is also used in destroying weeds.
Both auxin and cytokinin are combined to form shoots and roots in tissue culture.
