AstraZeneca vaccine offers limited protection

Professor Barry Schoub says no one could have predicted that the AstraZeneca vaccine would have only limited protection against mild disease caused by the COVID-19 variant discovered in South Africa. Schoub is chairperson of the Ministerial Advisory Committee on vaccines. The vaccine rollout has been suspended after an announcement that the vaccine offers limited protection.
