Blue whale's 3 tonne skeleton on display in Darwin

Forty-one years ago a blue whale mysteriously beached and died in a mangrove forest at Cape Hotham, around 67 kilometres east of Darwin. Now its skeleton weighing more than three thousand kilograms is being reconstructed and once finished will be back on public display in the museum and art gallery of the Northern Territory.
