EXCLUSIVE | Decision to leave Congress not taken overnight, says Jitin Prasada

Jitin Prasada has spoken exclusively to India Today. This is his first interview after he deserted Congress and switched over to the BJP on Wednesday.
"This is not a decision that was taken overnight. This has been going inside me for several years. After seeing my supporters, I realised that the party which I was a part of earlier has detached itself from citizens," Prasada said about his reason for joining BJP.
He added, "We come to politics to help people. I always wanted to bring some good change for the people of my country, state and district. But when I realised that it was impossible to do that in Congress, I decided to leave it. The decision was a mixture of heart, conscience and intelligence."
