The Ministry of Earth-Sciences is planning to set up a ‘Thunderstorm Research Testbed’ in Balasore district. This testbed will by the first of its kind in the country. In an exclusive interview to OTV, Director General of India Meteorological Department, Mrutyunjay Mohapatra revealed about the plan. This decision comes in a bid to accurately predict thunderstorm and lightning activity to save lives and property.
